This Woman Shares Her Secrets For Getting the Most Out of AI at Work

Formerly the global head of machine learning for startups and venture capital at Amazon Web Services, Allie K. Miller is among the busiest AI consultants and influencers in the industry, with more than 1.6 million followers on LinkedIn alone.

Allie says, "By the time you wake up, your AI should have already been working for you for hours.”

Is that so?

In an interview with Inc., Miller says that nowadays, she largely works out of Claude Code, the agentic coding system developed by Anthropic. She keeps multiple instances of Claude Code running simultaneously in separate terminals. Because these Claude Code instances have access to Miller’s filesystem, they can autonomously complete work on her behalf.

Learn how she does this.

What Is Business Stress About?

Jeff Bezos, founder of Amazon, doesn’t believe stress comes from having too much to do. Instead, he believes it comes from not doing something soon enough.

According to Fortune, Bezos has said stress tends to surface not when he’s overloaded, but when he’s avoiding something.

Creating Helpful AI Agents

OpenAI released two new solutions aimed at helping developers create AI-powered agents capable of going beyond just answering questions and actually taking actions, like approving refunds or buying plane tickets. Executives from OpenAI and cloud storage platform Box say these new development tools will make it much easier for businesses to take advantage of the cutting-edge tech.

A word of caution, though: Don’t overwhelm agents with an excess of information. With too much context, your agent may be a jack of all trades, but a master of none.

Today Vaca runs PG on the foundation that people are the asset, and providing service to them is the goal. She applies this mindset to both her clients and her employees -- and anyone who wants to learn how to create a successful business. "My purpose is to improve lives through entrepreneurship, and Pinnacle's is to connect them with opportunity," she said.

Humor Builds Resiliency

So you are running a multimillion dollar business.  What can be funny about that?  Plenty.  That is, if you lighten up a bit because humor builds resiliency.  Here's what Eleanor Beaton from Inc. says:
And while you might be tempted to write off "having fun" as a performance strategy more applicable to entertainers than business leaders, a number of leadership heavyweights -- from noted psychologists to high-performing business leaders -- echo  [new comic Tiffany] Haddish's belief that having fun boosts the performance of both leaders and the companies they helm.
No kidding.  Read more here.

Support Women Entrepreneurs: Here's How

Supporting women entrepreneurs goes far beyond purchasing their goods and services, sharing expertise to help their businesses grow (e.g., through WPO chapter meetings), or attending the events that other women organize.

As Lisa Abeyta for Inc. Magazine goes on to say:
Those are actually the easy ways we can support women in business. The real challenge is continuing to support women when it requires that we hold them accountable for bad behavior or intercede when we see them making decisions that could damage their reputation or company.
If you care, read on ...

Women Are Eager to Learn

Norm Brodsky, senior contributing editor for Inc. magazine, talks about what male entrepreneurs need to learn from women.  Here's a snippet:
In the beginning, that [asking a lot of questions] usually involves numbers. Most new entrepreneurs are salespeople with no background in accounting. They don’t understand the basics of finance. I find that women are open about this and are eager to learn. Of course, most of the men don’t have a very good grasp of the financials either, but they’re more likely to bluff, pretending they know more than they do.

Article of Interest: Thought About Moving Your Business to An Urban Area?

If ever there were a consideration, now is the time to think about moving your business to an urban area. Why?
Goldman Sachs recently announced that it would provide $500 million in support for 10,000 small businesses, particularly those located in urban neighborhoods. A Who's Who of business leaders including the billionaire investor Warren Buffett and Harvard Business School professor Michael Porter have signed on the help.

But the person who will be responsible for running the initiative day-to-day is Dina Powell (pictured), a former State Department official in the Bush administration who worked with Karen Hughes on education and cultural issues. Powell joined Goldman Sachs in 2007, as the global head of corporate engagement. Her first task was to set up a program called 10,000 Women--an initiative to foster entrepreneurship among women around the world. The small business outreach effort will be modeled on that program.
Find out how the money will be spent by reading an interview conducted by Inc.com editor Mike Hofman with Dina Powell, the executive in charge of the program here.

Hint of how you get on the list:
Our criteria are that a business must have between $150,000 and $4 million in revenue, four or more full-time employees, and that it has been in operation for two years at a minimum.
