We love when our Chicago members are featured in the news!  And this article says it all about WPO Chicago member and designer Shea Soucie of Chicago-based Soucie Horner, Ltd.

"Shiir, for us, from a design standpoint, has been an exploration of material, technique, and texture," Soucie tells AD PRO. "As a designer, when we started on the line, I wanted to come up with something that was unique in the marketplace. To me, texture had to drive that conversation. Then we found different techniques and fibers to translate those textures and bring them to life. After four years of exploring woven fiber, leather was another material that we could take on."

All Business Becoming Global

It's always a treat to see one of our very own WPO Chicago members featured in a prominent news article.  In this case, Shea Soucie, co-owner of Soucie Horner, Ltd., a custom residential design firm, is featured in the Chicago Sun-Times article:  Women at work:  'All business becoming global,' Chicago importer says.

Shea started a new business, SHIIR, to import fine rugs (pictured) and decorative carpets and sell them across the country and worldwide.

Congrats to Shea!  We are very proud of you.

WPO Chicago member Shea Soucie (pictured) is co-owner of two Chicago-based companies:  Soucie Horner Ltd., an interior design studio and SHIIR, a fine artisanal rug company.  She says:

“Everything I do is very visual, so where I choose to eat says something about me from a visual standpoint. We are about quality, not volume.”
