The chart of U.S. retail mobile commerce traces back to 2011, when sales totaled $14 billion dollars, more than doubling in 2012 to $25 billion. One of the more interesting figures is the average amount per purchase by device, noting that $250 was the average purchase on a smartphone, while an average tablet purchase amount was significantly higher at $329.
